“Il Poggetto” is a farm estate
located in the heart of Tuscany, in a hilly and panoramic area, only
a few kilometres from San Gimignano with other old medieval towns
a short distance away. The farm estate is easy to reach by car. The
estate is an ideal base to plan trips and excursions in the numerous
resorts rich in art and history like Certaldo, Montaione, Monteriggioni,
Colle Val d'Elsa, Volterra, Florence and Sienna. This
small farm offers the ideal setting for a relaxing holiday in the
Sienese hills, surrounded by Chianti vineyards (with controlled and
guaranteed denomination of origin), old olive groves, age-old oak
trees, woods and farmyard animals. The apartments in the old farm
buildings have recently been restored. They have independent heating
and air-conditioning.
The owner lives in part of the farmhouse, which is not accessible
by the guests, and operates in the agricultural field. Adjacent to
the farmhouse there is an open gallery for enjoying breakfast, equipped
with oven and barbecue, outdoor games for children and a large lawn
with swimming pool, from which you can admire the beautiful old town
of San Gimignano.

During your holidays at “Il Poggetto” you can play sport and enjoy
the numerous cultural and recreational activities.
It is in a perfect position for those who are interested in discovering
the Tuscan countryside on foot or bicycle. You can also read a good
book on the green hill, just called “Il Poggetto”, surrounded by
olive groves and age-old oak trees.
The farmhouse has a large lawn with solarium and relaxation area,
open gallery with barbecue and wood-burning oven for lunches and
dinners in the open air, swimming pool ( 6x12 m ) equipped with
sunshade parasols, tables, chairs and sun beds, large garden with
outdoor games for children.
If you want, you can also participate in an agricultural activity
of the farm (i.e. cultivation of vegetables or fruit harvesting).

The farm “Il Poggetto” produces and sells its own Chianti wines
with controlled and guaranteed denomination, Vernaccia di San
Gimignano and other typical products like extra virgin olive
oil, Vinsanto di Tavio, honey, jams, seasonal fruits
and vegetables. You can taste, free of charge, our products during
lunches and dinners, which are prepared by Mrs. Franca. Should you
wish these products are also available for purchase at the indoor
"Cantina dei sapori".

BY CAR
You can reach the farm estate “Il Poggetto”: from the NORTH
or SOUTH on the A1 motorway. Take the exit Firenze-Certosa
and continue on the highway Firenze-Siena. Take the exit Poggibonsi
Nord and get onto the state road 429 in the direction of Empoli
until Certaldo. Drive for about 2 km in the direction of San Gimignano
and follow the road to the left in the direction of San Benedetto.
From the WEST on the A12 motorway, take the exit Pisa Centro
Aeroporto and continue on the highway Firenze-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI)
in the direction of Florence (Firenze). Then get onto the state
road 429 in the direction of Siena until the town of Certaldo. From
here follow the above-mentioned instructions.
BY TRAIN:
Take the railway line Firenze-Empoli-Siena and get off the train
at the station of Certaldo.
